I needed to map the network topology of our small office. I wanted to figure out which machines were connected to which switch without having to figure out the physical connections by tracing each network port to the patch panel which is a bit of a mess. LanTopology looked just the job. It did find the managed switches I didn\'t expect it to find the unmanaged ones but that would be a cool feature. However that was it. I had a diagram of two switches connected together. Accurate but I already knew that. As for finding what was connected ...

Discover DHCP servers on network. DhcpExplorer 1.3 DhcpExplorer tool allows you to discover DHCP servers on your local subnet or LAN. This is useful for locating servers that are not supposed to be on your network ( rogue DHCP servers ) as well as checking the expected output of known servers. The tool is designed with a user-friendly interface and is easy to use.

Less useful than I had hoped I tried to use DhcpExplorer to debug problems with a change of DHCP server on my network.Unfortunately, I found it did not help. It displayed the DHCP parameters for DHCP server which I knew was working, but failed to show me any information about one which was not working.Great idea, but it would need to show more detail of what might have gone wrong to be of help to me in this situation.
